ALEX BARDER

Alex Barder is the Managing Partner of Strategic Film Partners, a global content distribution, creation and strategic advisory company that finances and distributes filmed entertainment on a global basis through multiple channels including Theatrical, DVD, VOD/SVOD, Pay & Free TV, digital and other Emerging Media.

Mr. Barder, on behalf of SFP and its clients has closed deals with numerous partners that include but are not limited to Sony Pictures, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros., Lionsgate, Starz Media, Showtime, MTV Networks and NBC/Universal. Mr. Barder has closed deals with partners throughout the globe in most territories including North America, South America, Europe, Eastern Europe, CIS (former USSR), Mid-East, Asia and Australia.

SFP's projects repeatedly rise to the top of industry sales charts and have combined generated over $100M in gross sales.

Most recently, Mr. Barder personally oversaw the national theatrical release of A LITTLE HELP starring Jenna Fischer (THE OFFICE) and Chris O'Donnell (NCIS: LOS ANGELES) where his responsibilities included the strategic planning, coordination and oversight of the theatrical release pattern, marketing, creative advertising, local & national PR, grass roots, digital, social media, soundtrack release (Sony Music) and media buying. He also recently closed a deal with Endemol Worldwide to co-produce/finance branded multi-platform projects. Mr. Barder previously produced THE CELL 2 for New Line Cinema & Warner Bros. and RING AROUND THE ROSIE released by Sony Pictures.

Prior to forming Strategic Film Partners in 2004, Mr. Barder amassed a wide array of studio and independent creative, sales, finance, strategic planning, marketing and deal experience having held positions at various companies including Universal Pictures based Lobell/Bergman Productions (HONEYMOON IN VEGAS, THE FRESHMAN), The Gersh Agency, UBS, Merrill Lynch and MTV Networks.

Mr. Barder is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Film School and NYU’s Stern School of Business. He speaks fluent Russian and lives in Los Angeles.

 


MARC FREITAS

Marc Freitas is Director of International Sales and Operations at Strategic Film Partners. In addition to international sales, Mr. Freitas is responsible for the company's backroom operations overseeing all aspects including acquisitions, delivery, and production.

Mr. Freitas was Associate Producer on "The Cell II" starring Frank Whaley, produced for New Line Cinema.

Mr. Freitas is a graduate of Emerson College .

 

 

SAM BLAN

Sam Blan is the Director of Acquisitions & Co-Productions for Strategic Film Partners.  He is responsible for business development and the acquisition of Feature Film, Television and other filmed entertainment projects at every stage of production whether in development, production or completed.

Mr. Blan seeks to forge partnerships with Producers, Directors, Agents, Managers, Media Financiers and other entertainment professionals in both the conventional filmed entertainment space and in the emerging digital space.  

Sam attends a multitude of festivals and markets including but not limited to: Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, AFM, SXSW, Tribeca, Jerusalem, Chicago, Newport Beach, LA Film Festival, Santa Barbara,  AFI and many more.    He is also a frequent speaker on panels and conferences including recently at the prestigious Film Nova Scotia program as well as Strategic Partners in Halifax.

Prior to Strategic Film Partners, Mr. Blan has held acquisition positions at various distribution companies having directly overseen the acquisition of over 25 Feature Films.     Also, Mr. Blan produced the feature film AMERICAN BULLY starring Natasha Hendstridge and John Savage.

Mr. Blan graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign with a degree in Political Science and Communications.    He is a native of Chicago and speaks Arabic & French.
